1. Ultra-low Thermal Expansion & Extreme Dimensional Stability
The stable graphite molecular structure greatly reduces the thermal expansion coefficient of the material, making its expansion rate close to aluminum and steel materials. Ordinary PI materials have a thermal expansion coefficient of 2–3 × 10⁻⁵/°C, while SP-22 graphite-filled PI plates reach an ultra-low level of 10⁻⁶ to 10⁻⁷/°C. In the extreme temperature range of -260°C to 330°C, the overall dimensional change is less than 0.1%, and it will not expand or shrink due to temperature and humidity changes, fully meeting the ultra-high precision matching requirements of industrial precision parts.
2. Full-range Extreme Temperature Resistance
These products maintain stable mechanical strength and structural performance in the ultra-wide temperature range from -200°C low temperature to 300°C high temperature. It is only soluble in a few special solvents such as NMP and DMF. The unique aromatic ring molecular structure of polyimide can effectively disperse radiation energy and prevent molecular chain breakage. Even at a high temperature of 300°C, the material can retain more than 85% of its original mechanical strength. Currently, Vespel SP-22 plate is one of the few organic materials that can simultaneously withstand ultra-high temperature above 400°C, ultra-high insulation resistance above 10¹⁶ Ω·cm and super radiation dose above 5 × 10⁷ Gy, with incomparable radiation resistance advantages over ordinary engineering plastics.
5. Low Friction & Wear Resistance
The uniform graphite filler forms a stable self-lubricating layer on the material surface, effectively reducing the friction coefficient. While ensuring high dimensional stability, it greatly improves the wear resistance of the material, adapting to long-term high-frequency friction working conditions.
