Torlon CNC parts is a PAI product manufactured from PAI plastic rods, plates, and tubes as starting materials, using CNC machines for processing. PAI (Polyamide‑Imide) is a high‑hardness, semi‑crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic. It’s easy to work with and can handle especially high operating temperatures in air—up to 250 °C. It offers great UV resistance, excellent resistance to high‑energy radiation like gamma rays and X‑rays, plus good wear and friction properties.
As a high‑performance engineering plastic, Torlon CNC parts already delivers strong all‑round performance. But since industrial demands keep rising, there’s still room to make it even better:
Right now, PAI’s heat deflection temperature under 1.8 MPa load is 274 °C, but its performance still drops in extreme environments above 300 °C. One way to improve is by designing new molecular structures—for example, adding more stable aromatic heterocyclic units to help it stay stable at even higher temperatures. We could also boost its long‑term aging resistance at high temperatures, maybe by adding heat stabilizers or tweaking the molecular structure, to extend its service life in hot conditions.
PAI’s elongation at break isn’t very high at the moment (3–8%). We could add some flexible segments through copolymerization to improve toughness while keeping its high strength (tensile strength 190 MPa, flexural strength 250 MPa). Another route is developing new reinforcement systems—using carbon fiber, glass fiber, or inorganic whiskers to increase stiffness and strength, as well as bump up impact resistance.
Torlon CNC Product works well for parts with complex geometries. It allows flexible design and is cost‑effective for small‑batch production. Dimensional accuracy and surface finish can both be held to tight tolerances. On the downside, material utilization isn’t super high, costs are relatively steep, and it demands capable processing equipment.
GuangZhou Ideal brings advanced production gear and years of manufacturing know‑how to the table, ensuring high precision and consistent quality. We have high‑end equipment like CNC lathes, milling machines, machining centers, and 5‑axis machining centers, so we can handle parts of various shapes and sizes. Our experienced technicians keep a close eye on every detail—dimensional accuracy, surface quality, structural integrity, and performance consistency—to make sure every Torlon CNC machined parts part we deliver is high‑quality and competitively priced.

1.Torlon CNC parts stands up to both high and low temperatures like a champ. Here’s why it handles the heat so well: its molecular chain has a super stable imide ring and aromatic heterocyclic structure. Plus, it expands very little when heated. Its glass transition temperature hits 250–300 °C, which is why you’ll hardly find any real substitutes for it in high‑temperature precision parts.
2.It lubricates itself, too. The PAI molecular chains are packed with aromatic rings and rigid imide groups, building a strong 3D network. During friction, the chains don’t slide easily—their rigid structure stops them from deforming and cuts down on adhesive wear. And because the material is so hard (Rockwell hardness > M110), any tiny surface bumps tend to flatten out elastically instead of breaking off, which reduces friction loss.
3.Torlon CNC Product is seriously strong and stiff. That comes from its rigid aromatic heterocyclic backbone. The main PAI chain contains benzene and imide rings, creating a highly conjugated, rigid setup. Resonance between the aromatic rings makes the chains hard to rotate (needs over 200 kJ/mol to overcome), giving the plain resin a tensile strength of 172–180 MPa. At the same time, the amide bonds (–CONH–) form loads of hydrogen bonds between molecules—about 0.8–1.2 bonds per nm³—which boosts the grip between chains and helps prevent plastic deformation.
4.It resists radiation really well. PAI’s aromatic rings and amide‑imide bonds create a high cross‑link density, so it can soak up radiation energy and protect the molecular chains from breaking. Throwing in fillers like carbon fiber can bump up radiation resistance by about 30%. It handles ionizing radiation like gamma and X‑rays nicely, keeping over 90% of its mechanical strength even at 1000 kGy. After irradiation, volume resistivity stays above 10¹⁵ Ω·cm, so its insulation barely takes a hit.
5.Corrosion doesn’t bother it much either. Torlon CNC machined parts’s toughness against chemicals comes from its unique rigid structure, where acyl‑imine rings and amide bonds alternate. That lets it stay stable even in hot, harsh, corrosive settings.
6.And it fights off fatigue really well. Thanks to its special molecular build, PAI plastic has a clear edge in fatigue resistance—especially when things get hot and it’s under fast, repeating loads.
1.Aerospace: Parts for aerospace need to hold up in both really hot and really cold settings. Torlon CNC parts material can take high pressure, fight off corrosion, and doesn’t get worn down by friction, wear, or impact. It’s pretty rare to find a plastic that checks all those tough boxes.
2.Automotive industry: Right now, PAI is the top-performing thermoplastic out there, and its special physical traits make it a natural fit for cars. These days, a lot of gearbox components that used to be metal are slowly being replaced with PAI, since it can handle the heat, pressure, and friction without a problem.
3.Oil and gas: Torlon PAI holds its own even in extreme conditions, making it a reliable pick for critical jobs. Torlon CNC Product is commonly used to make things like seals, backup seals, downhole pipes, labyrinth seals, bearings, and bushings.
4.Semiconductor: PAI is used all over the semiconductor industry, especially in processes that involve high-temperature treatment. Its parts don’t warp easily in hot or cold temps, have a clean, pollution-free surface, and aren’t fazed by corrosion from strong acids, harsh chemicals, or solvents. You’ll often see it in chip processing parts, bearing surfaces, part carriers, as well as sockets and processors for IC testing equipment.
5.Electrical and Electronics: Torlon PAI offers great insulation, stands up to high voltage, and is really impact-resistant, so it’s a common choice for electrical connectors and insulation components. Torlon CNC machined parts’s excellent electrical performance also makes it a solid fit for high-performance electronic parts like connectors, switches, relays, and so on.
