Ideal Plastic factory's Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK tubes we’re talking about here is basically PEEK plastic mixed with carbon fiber. That carbon fiber makes the material perform way better overall. It possesses higher mechanical strength and a superior elastic modulus. Its heat distortion temperature has also been significantly increased, and its wear resistance is even more outstanding. Ideal Plastic is a professional Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK tubes manufacturer and supplier. Let’s start with pure PEEK. It’s a type of thermoplastic, kind of a light beige color. It’s got a lot going for it: it can handle high heat, it’s strong and stiff, but not brittle—so it’s pretty tough. A lot of chemicals like acids, alkalis, and solvents don’t really hurt it. It also resists wear really well, even under high pressure or lots of friction. Plus, it’s a great electrical insulator and can take high voltage without issues.
Now, the product is a PEEK product that’s reinforced with carbon fiber. Compared to glass fiber reinforced PEEK, It has higher mechanical strength and a better elastic modulus. Its heat distortion temperature is also way higher, and it’s more resistant to wear. On top of that, it conducts heat much better, so it cools down faster. Because carbon fiber reinforced PEEK has such a high heat distortion temperature and low shrinkage, it’s used a lot in high-tech areas like aerospace. And the carbon fiber adds some electrical and thermal conductivity to the PEEK, which is useful for certain special applications.
Now let’s talk about GuangZhou Ideal. Carbon fiber Filled PEEK tube has been in development for over ten years, so there’s a lot of real-world experience behind it, and the production process is pretty mature. Our company makes and sells a PEEK composite reinforced with 30% short carbon fiber. At room temperature, its tensile strength is at least twice that of unreinforced PEEK. At 150°C, the tensile strength can even go up to three times that of unreinforced PEEK. The reinforced material also shows big improvements in impact strength, flexural strength, and modulus. Its heat distortion temperature is over 300°C. Plus, we can customize different sizes and different carbon fiber contents depending on what the customer needs.

1. Wear Resistance:
Thanks to the carbon fibers, this PEEK material doesn’t soften as easily when it heats up. It forms a strong transfer film on the surface, which really helps protect the contact area. That’s why Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK tubes wear down way slower than pure PEEK. Parts made from this carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK are also less likely to crack on the surface compared to metal or ceramic parts. In fact, its wear resistance is even better than ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene.
2. Mechanical Properties:
If you take PEEK and reinforce it with 30% short carbon fibers, you get at least double the tensile strength at room temperature compared to the version without fibers. Impact strength, flexural strength, and modulus also get a lot better, though the material won’t stretch as much — elongation drops noticeably.
3. Temperature Resistance:
Carbon fibers are stiff, so they help support the material at high temperatures and stop it from deforming. The fiber network also limits how much the matrix can move around when heated. For Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK pipe — especially when the carbon fiber content is over 20% — the heat distortion temperature (tested at 1.82 MPa) jumps from about 160°C for pure PEEK to near or even above its melting point (around 343°C). For example, PEEK with 30% carbon fiber usually has a heat distortion temperature above 315°C. That means it stays stable even in pretty high heat.
4. Compressive Properties:
Carbon fibers help resist buckling and improve compressive strength, especially if the force is applied along the fiber direction. Adding fibers boosts both the compressive strength and modulus of PEEK by a lot. With 30% carbon fiber reinforcement, you can get compressive strength in the range of 150 to 200 MPa.
5. Creep Resistance and Fatigue Resistance:
The carbon fibers act like a restraint, which really cuts down on the matrix slowly flowing or deforming under long-term stress — that’s creep. At the same time, the fibers help carry the load when the material goes through repeated stress cycles, stopping cracks from starting or spreading inside the matrix. That makes the fatigue life way longer. So overall, Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK tubes handles creep much better, even at high temperatures.
6. Electrical Properties:
Once you add carbon fiber, the originally insulating PEEK becomes conductive or at least antistatic, depending on how much carbon fiber you put in and how well it’s mixed. On the other hand, glass fiber reinforced PEEK mostly stays insulating.
