Glass Fiber Filled PEEK Sheets

Glass Fiber Filled PEEK sheets is a glass fiber reinforced PEEK profile. PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is a high-performance, semi-crystalline thermoplastic known for its strength and heat resistance. It has three main thermal transition points:
Glass transition temperature (Tg): 143°C
Crystallization temperature (Tc): 285°C
Melting point (Tm): 334°C (the highest of the three)
Its density also changes with crystallization—1.265 g/cm³ when amorphous, rising to 1.32 g/cm³ when fully crystallized.

Product Description

Adding glass fiber (usually between 10% and 30%) boosts Glass Fiber Filled PEEK sheets’s mechanical strength and dimensional stability. But there are trade-offs: melt flow becomes poorer, and the glass fibers can cause wear on processing equipment and sometimes lead to uneven heating during production.

That’s why extruding Glass Fiber reinforced PEEK sheet requires significantly higher temperatures compared to pure PEEK. Barrel temperatures are typically set from 385°C up to 410°C. The more glass fiber in the material, the higher the temperature needed—for example, with 30% glass fiber, the rear barrel temperature should be around 400°C–410°C. It’s also important to keep the temperature consistent along the barrel. We recommend keeping the difference between front and rear zones within 20°C to avoid localized overheating, which can weaken the bond between the glass fibers and the PEEK resin.

Mold temperature needs to be higher too, generally between 170°C and 200°C. This helps improve melt flow, promotes better crystallization of the resin around the fibers, and strengthens the bond—plus it reduces warping caused by uneven crystallization.

Product properties:

1.Self-lubricating properties:

Glass Fiber Filled PEEK sheets is great at lubricating itself, which makes it a good fit for uses where you need low friction and good wear resistance. For example, when PEEK is blended with carbon fiber, graphite, or PTFE, the wear resistance really stands out.

2.Improve friction performance:

Throwing in some glass fibers can really cut down the friction coefficient of PEEK—sometimes the wear rate drops by roughly ten times. But be careful: if you go overboard with glass fiber (more than 40%), it might start wearing down whatever it’s paired with. That’s why it’s usually better to mix it with something slippery like PTFE or graphite.

3.Long-term heat resistance performance:

Glass fiber-reinforced PEEK holds up better over time when things get hot. Take Glass Fiber reinforced PEEK sheet: after sitting at 200°C for 1,000 hours, it keeps 20–30% more of its original tensile strength compared to plain PEEK. Why? Basically, the glass fiber gets in the way of oxygen, which slows down how fast the material breaks down.

4.Enhanced Mechanical Properties:

Glass fiber gives PEEK a nice boost in stiffness, tensile strength, and flexural strength. A typical blend with 30% glass fiber can hit a tensile strength around 200 MPa and a flexural modulus above 12 GPa.

5.Chemical resistance stability:

PEEK GF30 sheet doesn’t mind most acids, alkalis, or organic solvents—it stays pretty stable even in tough chemical settings. That’s why you’ll often see it used in chemical pipes and valves: it stands up to corrosion and keeps working reliably for a long time.

6.More stable dimensions:

When you add glass fibers, PEEK gets a bit thicker when melted, so you might need to raise the injection molding temperature by 10–20°C. But there’s a plus: during molding, the fibers tend to line up in one direction, which means less shrinking and more precise final part sizes.

Where can you actually use this stuff?

1.aerospace

Planes really put their wings and landing gear through a lot—tons of stress in every flight. That’s why Glass Fiber Filled PEEK sheets is a great fit here. It’s a glass‑fiber‑reinforced PEEK composite that’s super strong and hardly deforms, even under heavy loads. It ticks all the boxes for tough aviation specs.

2.automotive industry

You’ll find this material in hot, high‑wear spots like near the engine—think intake manifolds or water pump impellers. It handles the heat and friction really well, stays durable, and doesn’t wear out easily. Perfect for keeping things running under the hood.

3.mechanical transmission

Glass Fiber reinforced PEEK sheet is a solid pick for industrial gears—helical gears in reducers, racks, cams, and bearing cages. Compared to metal, it runs way quieter, lubricates itself, and cuts down on the need for extra oil. Plus, it’s got great fatigue resistance, lasting over a million cycles. Ideal for machines that need to run non‑stop.

4.Chemical Engineering and Petroleum

This stuff hardly cares about harsh chemicals. Stick it in 98% sulfuric acid or 30% caustic soda for 500 hours, and it keeps more than 95% of its performance. That’s why it’s often used in petrochemical setups—like in corrosion‑resistant pump impellers, valve seals, and pipe connectors (say, for sulfuric acid pumps). It’s a practical, cost‑effective alternative to stainless steel.

5.surgical instruments

From laparoscopic handles to dental handpiece casings and surgical robot joints, PEEK GF30 sheet works well in medical tools. It can be sterilized again and again—whether by steam (134°C, 30 minutes) or hydrogen peroxide plasma—without breaking down. Its smooth surface resists bacteria buildup, and it meets international medical safety standards (ISO 10993).

6.power industry

PEEK holds up against radiation (handling doses up to 10⁴ Gray) and long‑term high heat (like 250°C for 10+ years). That makes it a reliable choice for insulation in high‑voltage switches, cable joints, and even guide sleeves for control rods in nuclear plants. It’s built to meet strict safety needs in high‑risk environments like nuclear power.

FAQ:

1.What shipping methods do you offer?

We usually ship via DHL or FedEx, by air or sea—both are reliable and pretty quick. If you prefer your own courier or freight forwarder, just let us know and we can arrange that. Shipping costs are covered by you, and the final amount depends on your package size, weight, and delivery address.

2.What’s your return or exchange policy?

If there’s a quality issue, a sizing problem, or anything that affects how the product works—whether it’s a semi-finished or custom item—get in touch right away. If it’s our fault, we’ll handle returns or exchanges and cover both ways of shipping.

If you ordered the wrong thing or want to return for personal reasons (especially with profile blanks), we can usually work it out as long as the item is still resellable. In that case, you’ll cover the shipping cost.

3.What after-sales support do you provide?

Run into any issues while using our products? Just reach out—we’re here to help. We’ll use our know-how and experience to help you sort things out.

4.Is there a minimum order quantity?

For semi-finished profiles, we can do small orders to get you started. If you need custom parts, tell us more—like how they’ll be used and the specs—and we’ll find a solution that fits.

5.What certifications do your products have?

We’re ISO9001:2008 certified for quality management. Our products also come with SGS, CE, and RoHS certifications, and meet environmental standards such as REACH and EN71.

6.What kind of production equipment do you use?

We work with a range of specialized gear: large profile production lines, various CNC machines and machining centers, including 4-axis and 5-axis models. We also have engravers, laser cutting equipment, and a 100,000-class dust-free injection molding workshop.

7.Can I request samples?

Absolutely! If we have the semi-finished profiles in stock, we’ll send samples at no cost—you just pay for shipping. And don’t worry—the samples will match exactly what you’ll get in your actual order.
