PEEK CNC Parts

Okay, so for our product PEEK CNC parts, we start with a raw material called PEEK profile. PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is a really high-performance engineering plastic. Think of it as a special kind of plastic – its molecular structure is semi-crystalline, with a bunch of benzene rings lined up neatly. It's got this main chain with both ether bonds and carbonyl groups, which basically means it's tough but still pretty easy to work with.Within the polyaryletherketone family, PEEK is the one you see and use the most. It's got a fantastic all-around set of properties: great heat resistance, wears well, handles fatigue, can take radiation, resists peeling, and doesn't creep much under load. Honestly, it performs well both physically and chemically.

Product Description

Our PEEK CNC parts part is made by machining this PEEK material on a CNC machine. This approach is perfect for smaller orders because we don't need to make expensive molds, and if the design changes, we can adapt quickly. It dramatically cuts down the time needed for trial production. Plus, CNC machining is super precise – we're talking tolerances of around ±0.01mm and a surface roughness (Ra) better than 0.8 μm. That's a lot finer than what you typically get with injection molding, which might be around 0.1mm. We also have multi-axis machines, like 4-axis and 5-axis CNCs, so we can handle really complex shapes – deep cavities, thin walls, funky curved parts – stuff that's just not feasible with injection molding.

Now, working with PEEK isn't without its challenges. It's got a high melting point and high crystallinity, so you need the right equipment and know-how. We use high-precision, high-power machines and have to keep a close eye on temperatures and tool settings. And since PEEK is hard and wear-resistant, our cutting tools wear out faster than with more common materials. That means we're constantly checking them and swapping them out when needed – no cutting corners here.

Our shop, GuangZhou IDEAL company, is set up for this. We've got a range of high-end equipment, including CNC machining centers and 5-axis machines. No matter how complex the PEEK CNC machined part design gets, we can almost certainly handle it. During production, our experienced technicians adjust the machining plan based on the specific PEEK grade and the part's geometry. We control every step carefully – from preparing the material, choosing the right tools, and setting the parameters, all the way to final post-processing. This ensures that CNC PEEK part not only keeps the great properties of the PEEK material itself but also comes out with precise dimensions, a smooth, clean finish, and no defects.

Product properties:

Awesome Strength and Toughness

At room temperature (which is about 23°C or 73°F for reference), pure PEEK has a tensile strength between 90 and 110 MPa. In plain English, that means you can pull on it really hard and it won't snap. It's also surprisingly stiff and resists bending, with a flexural strength of 150 MPa. When it comes to handling repeated impacts or stress, it's a real champ—its toughness is up there with the best plastics and can even give some metals a run for their money. And if you try to squeeze it? Good luck. With a compressive strength of 118 MPa, it's very hard to crush.

Great at Handling Repeated Stress (Fatigue Resistance)

This is where PEEK CNC parts really shines, often outperforming many metals. Tests show that PEEK can be stressed over and over again—we're talking more than ten million cycles—and still hold together without breaking. Compared to your average plastic, it's way more durable. This makes it perfect for parts that are constantly vibrating or under repeated load, like compressor rotors, gears, bearing housings, and various valve components.

It Can Take Radiation, Too

Put simply, if PEEK is exposed to radiation like gamma rays or X-rays, it doesn't fall apart. It keeps its structure and its properties don't easily degrade.

Slippery and Hard to Wear Down

PEEK CNC machined part has a naturally low friction coefficient, so it's really slippery and extremely resistant to wear. This makes it a top choice for sliding parts. If you need it to be even tougher against abrasion, you can mix in additives like carbon fiber or graphite to supercharge its wear resistance.

Hardly Affected by Water (Hydrolysis Resistant)

PEEK pretty much ignores water. At 23°C, its water absorption rate is a tiny 0.5%, so it barely soaks up any moisture. It's also the top dog for heat resistance among engineering plastics. It can work continuously in 200°C steam and can even handle short bursts of 300°C high-pressure steam.

Handles Crazy High Heat

CNC PEEK part is one of the most heat-resistant plastics you can find. It melts at a scorching 343°C. According to UL standards in the U.S., it's rated for long-term use at 260°C. Even if things heat up to 300°C, it hangs on to most of its properties. The temperature where it starts to soften and deform (heat distortion temperature) is between 135°C and 160°C for pure PEEK. But if you add 20% glass fiber, that jumps to 286°C. Crank it up to 30% glass fiber, and it can handle temperatures all the way up to 300°C.

Where can you actually use this stuff?

1.In car manufacturing, PEEK CNC parts is a great alternative to metals for different auto parts because it's tough and holds up well under wear and tear.

2.PEEK is super sturdy—it doesn’t break down easily when exposed to chemicals and can handle both high and low temperatures without a problem. That’s why it’s perfect for parts that often get hit by harsh chemicals, like seals, gaskets, O-rings, and pump pieces.

3.When it comes to medical devices, PEEK CNC parts is safe to use inside the body and stands up well against chemical damage. That makes it a common choice for things like artificial joints, dental implants, and even tubing and valves used in medical equipment.

4.Thanks to its ability to resist heat and chemicals, PEEK also works really well in tough settings—like places with high heat, high pressure, or strong acids and bases. You’ll often find it in chemical plants inside things like pressure tanks, pipes, and pumps.

5.CNC PEEK part has steady chemical properties and is totally non-toxic, so it’s safe to use with food. It’s often used to make food containers like lunch boxes and cutlery.

6.In electronics and electrical engineering, PEEK is a top pick because it’s a great insulator. It’s used in parts like capacitors, insulating layers, wires, and cables. Plus, it’s common in high-end electronics such as semiconductor packaging and circuit boards.

FAQ

Can I return or exchange items?

If you notice any quality issues, wrong sizing, or anything else that keeps you from using the product—whether it’s a semi-finished or custom order—get in touch with us right away. If it’s really our mistake, we’ll handle the return or exchange and cover the shipping costs both ways.

If you ordered the wrong thing or want to return for personal reasons (especially profile blanks), we can usually arrange that too, as long as the item is still in resalable condition. Just keep in mind, you’ll need to pay for the shipping in that case.

Can we sign an NDA?

Sure! If your product drawings or images are confidential, we’re happy to sign a confidentiality agreement. We take this seriously—your designs stay with us, we won’t upload them online or share them with anyone else. We stick to our word, and if we break it, we’re legally responsible.
