Product Description

Ideal Plastic provides high-performance China PEEK rings. Compared with conventional circular components crafted from metal, nylon or POM, these rings combine high-temperature resistance, inherent dry self-lubrication, electrical insulation, chemical resistance plus ultra-low creep performance into one single component.

Product Classification

It is a general umbrella term for all ring-shaped PEEK components, rather than a single fixed part. Despite a uniform circular profile, different types feature tailored functions for various industrial scenarios. Our full product lineup includes:

- PEEK washers & gaskets

- PEEK back-up rings

- PEEK sealing rings

- PEEK support rings

Each PEEK ring type serves exclusive core functions in sealing systems:

- PEEK back-up rings: Provide physical protection for O-rings and primary sealing rings to prevent extrusion damage

- Sealing rings: Serve as the core barrier to block fluid medium penetration

- O-rings: Offer continuous elastic preload to maintain stable and reliable sealing performance

Anti-Wear & Lubricating Performance

Widely used as isolating gaskets and friction pair wear rings, Polyetheretherketone Rings are installed between rotating shafts and equipment cavities. Leveraging PEEK’s inherent self-lubricating property to support oil-free dry friction, they deliver key operational benefits:

- Greatly reduce friction and component abrasion

- Protect expensive metal shafts and equipment housings from wear damage

- Effectively lower mechanical operating noise

- Significantly prolong the service life of transmission assemblies

Positioning & Dimensional Stability Under Extreme Conditions

Acting as high-performance snap rings and limit collars, these rings excel at mechanical positioning. Thanks to outstanding anti-creep properties, they maintain stable precision under harsh high-temperature and high-pressure conditions with the following advantages:

- Stably restrict axial displacement of moving parts and lock assembly clearances

- Maintain complete dimensional integrity under long-term high heat and continuous pressure

- Avoid component offset and position deviation during prolonged equipment operation

- Sustain consistent and precise mechanical operating accuracy

Multi-Functional Industrial Application Advantages

Superior to traditional metal rings, PEEK rings feature strong environmental adaptability and multi-functional performance for diverse industrial equipment. Their core application advantages are as follows:

- Auxiliary sealing & noise reduction:

Fit for pumps, valves and rotary assemblies to assist sealing, damp vibration and reduce running noise

- Anti-corrosion protection:

Resist erosion from hydraulic oils, coolants, weak acids, weak alkalis and salt spray

- Medium isolation:

Protect core internal parts of chemical fluid systems and offshore marine machinery

- Rust-free upgrade:

Effectively avoid rust failure common with conventional metal rings

Material Characteristics & Standardized Manufacturing Processes

PEEK’s high melting point, high melt viscosity and fast crystallization rate may cause processing defects such as residual stress, sink marks, deformation and poor circularity in precision annular parts. To resolve these issues and ensure consistent long-term dimensional stability, we adopt standardized manufacturing solutions:

- Dual mature production processes:

Precision CNC machining and high-temperature precision injection molding for different batch and precision demands

- Supporting post-treatment procedures:

Standard professional post-processing is matched for both production methods

- Stable long-term performance:

Effectively eliminate processing defects and guarantee lasting dimensional stability for end applications

Our Craftsmanship

Precision CNC Machining

This manufacturing route works well for thin-wall rings, large-diameter rings, semiconductor CMP rings, medical-grade annular components, slotted / stepped special-shaped rings, non-standard customized pieces and small-batch R&D samples. No mold opening is required. Custom orders based on engineering drawings or physical samples are fully acceptable.

Boasting outstanding machining accuracy, dimensional tolerance can reach ±0.01 mm. Circularity and flatness are well controlled. A dedicated annealing session after processing relieves internal stress thoroughly, so permanent deformation will not emerge after installation.

Challenge

That said, CNC processing still faces tangible hurdles when handling thin-wall and large-diameter PEEK rings. Workpieces tend to deform under clamping force; material rebound happens right after cutting; flatness and circularity are tough to stabilize. Excessive cutting heat melts partial PEEK material, resulting in burr formation and rough surface texture.

Our factory has rolled out targeted optimization plans to tackle these common challenges:

1. We adopt tool fixtures with soft contact surfaces to lessen clamping tension;

2. we carry out layered cutting with shallow cutting depth; workpieces go through annealing right after rough machining before fine cutting proceeds;

3. Cutting parameters are fine-tuned, paired with sharp cutting tools;

4. Mist cooling is adopted instead of soaking workpieces in massive coolant liquid.

High-Temperature Precision Injection Molding

Injection molding fits mass industrial orders for standard flat rings, retaining rings and limit collars. Unit production cost drops significantly with large-volume runs. Complex structures with grooves and steps can be molded in one go, bringing superb dimensional consistency across entire batches.

PEEK injection molding carries inherent difficulties though. Its extremely high melt viscosity leads to poor fluidity. Thin-wall rings often suffer incomplete filling, sink marks and obvious weld lines. Rapid crystallization creates massive internal stress during molding, which causes warpage once products get demolded.

We rely on proven molding techniques to resolve the above issues:

1. Accurate plasticization temperature is controlled between 380℃ and 420℃;

2. mold runners and gate structures are redesigned for better fluid flow;

3. segmented pressure holding plus gradient cooling improves melt filling outcomes, while constant-temperature molds cool down slowly;

4. Gradient annealing is arranged post-molding to fully release molding stress.

Product Properties & Application Scenarios

1. Consistent Strength Across Temperature Cycles

Peek Support Rings retain stable structural strength at elevated temperatures and resist softening, permanent deformation and creep under prolonged thermal stress.

Typical deployment covers automotive electronic assemblies, new energy motor internal structures, high-temperature sensor limit components, industrial heating equipment and aerospace hardware exposed to frequent thermal cycling.

2. Low Wear, Maintenance-Free Operation

Thanks to a low inherent friction coefficient, PEEK generates limited abrasion debris during continuous motion and avoids oil contamination inside sealed housings. Carbon fiber filled and PTFE-modified variants further boost wear resistance under heavy load scenarios.

Common applications: robot joint wear inserts, transmission thrust rings, rotary wear components for pumps and valves, semiconductor transmission lines and oil-free medical equipment.

3. Reliable Dimensional Stability

Sustained pressure and heat barely trigger permanent deformation in PEEK. Assembly gaps stay consistent over years, effectively stopping axial loosening and positioning offset. This advantage makes them a top choice for precision positioning structures.

Applicable scenarios: limit components for precision instruments, positioning inserts for wafer handling, isolating spacers for optical testing and custom precision tooling parts.

4. Strong Media Tolerance

These rings tolerate hydraulic fluids, coolants, mild acids, weak alkalis, organic solvents and coastal salt spray. Free from rusting issues seen on metal parts, they also avoid the swelling and hydrolysis risks typical of general-purpose plastics.

They are widely fitted into chemical pump and valve assemblies, offshore fluid control equipment, marine test instruments and automotive cooling system hardware.
