Ideal Plastic supplies high-quality PEEK washers. Our factory employs a dual-process approach combining precision CNC machining and precision injection molding, complemented by stress-relief annealing and precision grinding. We support the production of ultra-thin (down to 0.1mm) components, irregular non-standard shapes, and high-precision custom designs. The finished products feature high dimensional accuracy, minimal deformation, and freedom from internal stress; they offer a service life far exceeding that of washers made from nylon, POM, or standard plastics, making them suitable replacements for metal washers in many applications.
PEEK washers from Ideal Plastic factory are thin disc-shaped core components widely used in high-end precision equipment. They bear multiple practical functions: load bearing, friction reduction, electrical insulation, vibration buffering, plus auxiliary sealing against leakage. These slim parts take on vital tasks within machinery, including enduring axial pressure, reducing sliding friction, electrically separating metal components, preventing loosening, and offsetting dimensional errors during assembly.
When bolts are tightened, these washers spread compressive force evenly across contact surfaces. They also make up for assembly gaps, adjust axial clearances, and absorb vibrations and sudden impacts. In this way, equipment stays tight and stable during continuous operation.
Many mechanical systems use Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) Washers as thrust shims to withstand axial friction. Thanks to the material’s inherent self-lubricating trait, they cut down wear significantly and protect paired metal shaft surfaces, while lowering running noise for transmission systems. With great heat resistance and strong anti-creep capability, they maintain consistent clearances even after long-term operation under high temperatures.
PEEK is a high-insulation polymer material. Placed between two metal components, it stops electric conduction effectively, avoiding leakage, eddy currents and static transfer. Unfilled pure PEEK is non-magnetic, so it will never interfere with sensors, optical inspection tools and precision instruments, and rules out errors caused by electromagnetic disturbance.
The material holds up well against acids, alkalis, hydraulic oil, organic solvents and high-temperature steam. Unlike metal washers, it will never rust. It releases barely any gas and sheds minimal fine particles, meeting strict cleanliness requirements for semiconductor vacuum devices and medical machinery, without contaminating internal chambers or workpieces.
Common types include: Flat PEEK Washers, Thrust Washers, C-shaped Split Washers, Shoulder Washers / Step Washers, Wave Washers.
These thin precision sheets easily warp, deform or end up with uneven thickness. PEEK itself comes with a high melting point and extremely high melt viscosity; internal stress tends to build up as it cools down after forming. For these reasons, the industry mainly adopts two mature production methods: CNC precision cutting and high-temperature precision injection molding, both paired with standardized post-processing steps.
This process works best for ultra-thin shims, custom non-standard sizes, parts requiring ultra-tight tolerances, cleanroom-grade accessories for medical and semiconductor fields, small-batch prototypes and irregular PEEK washer. The thinnest specification we can produce reaches 0.1mm.
Advantages: No weld lines, even filler distribution and no residual stress brought by injection molding. Finished items feature excellent flatness and resist warping even under prolonged high-temperature compression. We can customize inner diameter, outer diameter, thickness and irregular outlines based on customer drawings.
Production difficulties: Ultra-thin blanks tend to spring back or chip off during cutting. Manufacturers need to carefully select cutting tools, design dedicated fixtures and control cutting speed properly. Poor processing will directly lead to unqualified flatness.
Suitable for mass production of standard flat washers, large-volume industrial orders and general-tolerance thrust washers. It also fits mass manufacturing of carbon fiber or glass fiber filled PEEK products.
Advantages: Lower unit cost for bulk orders and faster delivery cycles, ideal for long-term mass production of standard sizes. Complex integrated structures such as shoulder washers and wave washers can be formed in one molding step.
Production difficulties: PEEK’s high melt viscosity makes mold filling difficult. Common defects include sink marks, weld lines and trapped internal stress. Without annealing treatment, injection-molded washers will gradually deform when exposed to repeated hot and cold cycles.

Manufactured from virgin polyetheretherketone base resin, PEEK washers combine the toughness of high-performance engineering plastics with consistent physical properties required for high-temperature industrial environments. Primarily deployed as spacing components within precision fastening assemblies, they deliver reliable axial support, reduce sliding friction and provide electrical separation between mating hardware.
We offer multiple material grades to match varied working conditions: unfilled virgin PEEK, carbon fiber reinforced, glass fiber reinforced and custom anti-static modified formulations. Key functional strengths are outlined below.
PEEK material resists creep distortion effectively. Even under sustained compression and thermal loads, thickness variation stays minimal. Axial gaps remain consistent throughout long service lifespans, cutting down vibration and abnormal noise caused by gradual clearance growth after prolonged equipment operation.
Base PEEK features inherent solid self-lubrication and reduces routine grease maintenance. When used as thrust washers bearing axial sliding loads, these components operate at low friction with mild wear loss. Mating metal shafts gain reliable protection, avoiding galling and surface scratches from direct metal-on-metal contact.
Unfilled virgin PEEK acts as a non-magnetic electrical insulator. Installed between separate metal parts, it breaks conductive pathways to prevent leakage and eddy current interference. This ensures stable signal output for sensors and optical detection modules.
PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) Washer withstand most common industrial acids, alkalis, oils and solvents. Continuous operation in strongly oxidizing concentrated acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid is not recommended. Stable performance is maintained in cutting fluids, steam and salt spray atmospheres.
Unlike metallic shims, these washers will not corrode. Compared with conventional plastic parts, they resist swelling and chemical degradation during long-term exposure, making them suitable for chemical processing units and offshore high-humidity facilities.
The material balances impact resistance and anti-fatigue performance. Edge cracking and chipping seldom occur under continuous cyclic vibration. Relative to PTFE washers, they feature higher rigidity and far less cold flow tendency, satisfying long-running transmission assembly requirements.
A1: Standard nylon and POM plastic washers have quite a few drawbacks in field application. Their heat resistance is limited, creep deformation takes place easily, permanent compression deformation occurs under load, size expands once they absorb moisture, and abrasion happens rapidly.
PEEK plastic washers can endure consistent working heat up to 260 degrees Celsius. They feature exceptional creep resistance and ultra-stable dimensions. Their service life against abrasion stretches roughly 5 to 10 times longer than ordinary plastic alternatives. Assemblies remain tight without slackening or total breakdown even after years of continuous running.
A2: No oil maintenance is needed at all. Thanks to the inherent self-lubricating property of PEEK, these washers can sustain long-term dry friction operation. No powder shedding or mechanical jamming will occur. They are perfectly suited for dust-free workshops, medical devices, food processing machinery and unattended vacuum equipment.
A3: For the vast majority of scenarios requiring precision assembly, insulation, quiet running, lightweight design, corrosion protection and high temperature tolerance, these washers can replace metal washers perfectly. Users gain multiple benefits: rust-free performance, electrical isolation, vibration and noise reduction, lighter weight and no routine maintenance demands.
If you face heavy-load and high-pressure working conditions, reinforced modified PEEK materials can be selected to raise overall load-bearing capacity.
A4: We fully support all forms of customization. We can produce ultra-thin washers as slim as 0.1 mm, large outer diameter pieces, components with specially shaped holes, shoulder washers, thrust washers and precision parts manufactured to bespoke tight tolerances. We accept orders based on customer drawings or physical samples, covering small-batch sample trials as well as large-volume mass production schedules.
A5: Precision customized orders take between 7 and 10 working days for completion. Large-scale bulk production orders require 15 up to 20 working days in total.
All finished products go through comprehensive inspection prior to delivery. Complete quality traceability is available for every batch, and our factory accepts overseas customer audits for export cooperation.
